Michael Galla
Position: Accounting Operations Specialist

Michael began his career at Rust Belt Business Law in 2021 as a filing assistant, focusing on real estate transactions, title insurance, and document management. He has closed over a hundred real estate settlements, handling residential and commercial transactions, business buyouts, and refinances.

Michael transitioned into settlement and accounting assistant work related to the Employee Retention Tax Credit under the CARES Act, enhancing operational efficiency by standardizing letter formatting and implementing more effective document management systems. Since June 2024, he has led the ERC team, specializing in account transcript analysis, and investigative accounting.

He continues to oversee operations for the now $70M+ program, managing correspondence for over 150 clients and optimizing small database management. Michael creates and maintains systems that provide deeper insights into unique and complex accounting challenges while also managing power of attorney and IRS compliance, with a strong focus on payroll tax controversy.

In 2025, Michael transitioned to Pennywise Tax Strategies, where he now applies his expertise to support small businesses in navigating complex tax strategies. His attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage communications with clients, lenders, government offices, and other stakeholders ensure seamless support for business owners seeking tax solutions.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys cooking Italian-inspired dishes and spending time with his beloved dog, Benji, a hound-Labrador mix.
